What does a surgeon do?
A surgeon qualifies patients for surgical treatment in the hospital. He performs such procedures as excision of a skin lesion, plastic correction of a scar or surgical removal of varicose veins, among others.
Scope of consultation
During the consultation, the surgeon:
- conducts a history and physical examination,
- makes a diagnosis and informs about further treatment,
- issues referrals for examinations, consultations, hospitalizations,
- issues sick leave.
At the visit, the doctor may perform a per rectum examination, remove sutures and apply a dressing.
Note: Before surgical removal of skin lesions such as warts, fibromas or moles, it is necessary to see a dermatologist, who will assess the medical indications for removing the lesions.
Surgeon - telemedicine consultation
A telemedicine consultation can be used by any patient, regardless of location and previous medical history.
During the telephone consultation, the doctor will complete any services that are remotely possible. However, during the course of the medical interview, it may turn out that an in-patient visit is necessary, without which a correct diagnosis and selection of treatment cannot be made.
The specialist will attempt to connect with the patient three times.
