When to see an orthopedist?
An orthopedist is a doctor who deals with diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system, especially problems related to the spine and extremities. He orders examinations such as X-rays, MRIs and CT scans, makes diagnoses, plans treatment, makes referrals for rehabilitation, and carries out measures to prevent musculoskeletal abnormalities and resulting complications.
Make an appointment with an orthopedist in the following cases:
- muscle and joint pain, such as in the knees, spine, hip;
- mobility problems, muscle weakness;
- stiffness and numbness of limbs;
- symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome - tingling, numbness and pain in the hand area;
- post-injury condition;
- apparent change in posture;
- hallux valgus;
- control - if you have been diagnosed with chronic pain syndromes, degenerative changes, postural defects, birth defects, etc.
What does a visit to an orthopedist look like?
During the consultation, the doctor will take a history, review your medical records, and then proceed with a physical examination. He may ask you to perform certain actions, such as doing a bend or raising your arms. The orthopedist then makes recommendations, refers for tests, and plans treatment - as needed.
During the visit, you can expect to be asked questions about your health - past injuries and procedures, chronic diseases, treatment used, complaints you have and their nature (how often and since when they occur, what aggravates them, etc.), diseases that run in the family, as well as physical activity and lifestyle.

Orthopedic teleconsultation
A telemedicine consultation can be used by any patient, regardless of location and previous treatment history.
During the telephonic consultation, the doctor will complete any services that are remotely feasible. However, during the course of the medical interview, it may turn out that an in-patient visit is necessary, without which a correct diagnosis and treatment selection cannot be made.
