What does the package include?

Ticks not only in the woods

Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) is a disease to which both adults and children are susceptible. TBE is caused by a virus from the Flaviviridae family, usually transmitted during a bite from an infected tick. Infection can also occur from the consumption of milk and meat from animals infected with tick-borne encephalitis. Vaccination against TBE does not protect against contracting the disease Lyme disease.

It is widely believed that people who work outdoors and spend a lot of time actively resting - in forests, mountains, meadows - are mainly exposed to tick bites. However, ticks are also found in cities, they can inhabit parks, greenery in squares, or be brought home by pets - mainly dogs and cats.

Tick-borne encephalitis symptoms

Symptoms of tick-borne encephalitis may not be characteristic, in the first phase (the so-called heraldic phase) patients experience:

• body temperature up to 38⁰C,
• headache, muscle and joint pain,
• inflammation of the upper respiratory tract,
• diarrhea, nausea, vomiting.

In some cases, the disease passes spontaneously, but sometimes a second, neurological phase of the disease develops. Symptoms of NDS in the second phase of development are:

• fever up to 40⁰C,
• headache, muscle and joint pain,
• nausea,
• vomiting,
• neck stiffness,
• photophobia or hypersensitivity to sounds.

Important information

The package is valid for 3 months, you can use it after 3 business days of purchase. After finalizing the transaction, contact our hotline at 22 566 22 22 and make an appointment for qualification for vaccination. After positive qualification, the first dose of the vaccine will be administered, we will also inform you about the date of the next dose.

If you are not qualified for vaccination by the doctor, you must make another qualifying appointment, on the date specified by the doctor. Another qualifying visit for vaccination is charged extra.

Vaccination protects against contracting tick-borne encephalitis; it does not confer immunity against Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases. It also does not exempt you from taking protective and preventive measures - repellents, proper clothing, watching your skin after a walk, etc.
