When to see a urologist?

A urologist deals with diseases of the genitourinary system in men and the urinary system in women.

Make an appointment in case of:

• urinary tract infections;
• urinary problems (e.g., pain when urinating, frequent urination, scanty urine);
• urinary incontinence;
• presence of blood in the urine;
• pain, swelling of the testicles;
• Stools (abnormal constriction of the foreskin);
• erectile dysfunction;
• suspected kidney and bladder diseases;
• suspected benign proliferation of the prostate, testicular non-substitution or testicular hydrocele.

Remember! Men over the age of 40 are advised to see a urologist regularly (once a year or as indicated by the doctor) due to the increased risk of prostate cancer.

What does the visit look like?

During the consultation, the doctor will take a history, review your medical records, and then proceed with examinations that can be performed in the office, such as palpation and per rectum examination (if needed).

During your visit, tell the doctor about any symptoms that are of concern. Be sure to indicate how long they have been occurring, the frequency with which they appear, and whether there has been a recent increase.

During the consultation, the urologist: takes a history and performs a urological examination; removes sutures and applies dressings; makes a diagnosis and informs about further treatment, makes referrals for examinations, consultations, hospitalizations; issues sick leave.

Visit details:

• The consultation lasts from 15 to 30 minutes.
• You must arrive no later than 15 minutes before the appointment.
• Implementation of the service is possible only at the medical facility indicated during the purchase.
• If you want to find a specialist who speaks a foreign language, we recommend reading the profile of the doctor in question.

How to prepare for an appointment with a urologist?

You should bring your medical records to the appointment - useful test results, hospital discharges, previous doctors' opinions. It is advisable to put on comfortable, non-restrictive clothing that can be easily removed (you will need to undress from the waist down).

Urology teleconsultation

A telemedicine consultation can be used by any patient, regardless of location and previous treatment history.

During the telephonic consultation, the doctor will complete any services that are remotely feasible. However, during the course of the medical interview, it may turn out that an in-patient visit is necessary, without which a correct diagnosis and treatment selection cannot be made.

Important information: The doctor can only see the results of tests and consultations performed at the Damian Medical Center. You can send a scan of your medical records from other facilities, e.g. test results, to: wynikibadan@damian.pl at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. It will then be attached to your medical record and the doctor will see it at the appointment. When you book an appointment identified as a Teleportation, you are purchasing a telephone consultation, not an office visit. The office addresses displayed in the schedule only indicate where the doctor works. When purchasing a consultation, we strongly request that you use a phone number registered in Poland - it is only possible to have a telemedicine consultation from a Polish phone number.
