FSH

FSH testing, which is the level of folliculotropic hormone in the blood.

Folliculotropic hormone (FSH) is a hormone of the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland.

Elevated values are observed in women in primary ovarian insufficiency (polycystic ovary syndrome), in men, while in, for example, Klineferter's syndrome, tubal disorders, dysfunction of spermatogenesis.

Reduced values of FSH in women occur in

• recurrent ovarian failure due to dysfunction of the pituitary gland,
• use of ovulation suppressants,
• use of sex steroids,

Reduced values in men of FSH in cases of secondary testicular insufficiency.
