Joanna Dereń-Szumełda, MD, PhD

Joanna Dereń-Szumełda, MD, PhD is an outstanding specialist in the field of ophthalmology. She holds a doctor of medical sciences degree, and her doctoral thesis focuses on cataract surgery. She is a member of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO), the Polish Ophthalmological Society (PTO), and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS). She graduated from the Medical University of Warsaw and was also a Erasmus program scholarship recipient in Spain. She is also an active author and co-author of articles in both Polish and international literature. She presents her work at ophthalmic congresses both nationally and internationally. Additionally, Joanna Dereń-Szumełda is proficient in English and Spanish, enabling her to effectively communicate with patients from various backgrounds and cultures.
