What is laser epilation?

Laser epilation is a method of permanent hair removal on the body. The beam of light emitted by the laser penetrates the skin, weakening the structure of the hair that is in the active growth phase and destroying its root.

Does laser epilation produce permanent results?

Laser epilation allows you to completely and permanently get rid of hair from a selected area of the body. The effect of smooth skin lasts for many years (how much exactly is an individual matter). However, the treatment needs to be repeated several times at appropriate intervals, so that the roots of all hair are destroyed. Maintenance treatments are also recommended to maintain the effect, usually once a year.

Preparation

One month before the procedure, do not perform peeling or remove hair with wax, depilatories or tweezers (you can use a razor).

Treatment after the procedure

After laser epilation treatment, you should refrain from sunbathing for about 7-10 days.

Contraindications to performing the procedure

Contraindications for laser epilation treatment are:

• fresh tan (including tanning beds),
• use of creams with retinol,
• taking photosensitizing drugs or herbs, retinoids, medications that reduce blood clotting,
• high susceptibility to hyperpigmentation, scarring,
• active skin infections,
• diseases: vitiligo, psoriasis, diabetes, epilepsy,
• photodermatoses,
• blistering skin diseases,
• pacemaker,
• fresh surgical procedures.

For blonde, gray and red hair, the effectiveness of the treatment is lower.
