Sodium – 24-hour urine

Determination of sodium concentration in a urine sample after conducting a daily urine collection. The daily excretion of sodium corresponds to the amount of sodium ingested with food.

Natriuresis varies with sodium supply, there is no therefore normal natriuresis.


The test is used to assess adherence to a low-sodium diet low-sodium diet.
