Genetic testing for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus is performed using the. Real-Time RT-PCR method.

For intake, visit the Intervention Point at CM Walbrzyska 46:

• Monday through Thursday from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm
• on Fridays from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm

The source material for the test is a swab from the throat and nasal mucosa, from which the genetic material of the virus is isolated (SARS-CoV-2 RNA).

The tests we perform detect the virus regardless of the mutation, as they test for genes present in all variants (delta, British, Brazilian, etc.).

TEST RESULT Result waiting time: up to 48 hours (usually within 24 hours).

There is NO indication of the virus variant on the positive test result.

Tests for children We also offer tests for children (all ages). The test for children is similar to that for adults. However, taking a swab from a child depends on their cooperation during the test.

If a questionable result is obtained, it is necessary to repeat the test using a new sample. For epidemiological reasons, it is recommended to proceed as in the case of a positive result until the next test result is obtained.

At least 2 hours before the test, please do not:

• eat,
• drink water or other beverages,
• chew gum,
• rinse mouth or nose,
• brush your teeth,
• take medications,
• smoke cigarettes.
