Dr. Piotr Góralski

Dr. Piotr Góralski is an outstanding specialist in the field of general and oncological surgery. Since 2016, he has been working at the Department of Endocrine Surgery of the National Oncology Institute named after Maria Skłodowska-Curie, a state research institute in Warsaw. His areas of interest include the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid cancer, as well as tumors of the parathyroid and adrenal glands. Additionally, he serves as the coordinator of the department.

He is one of the few surgeons in Poland who perform thyroid surgery without a visible scar on the neck. The procedure is called TOETVA(Transoral Endoscopic Thyroidectomy Vestibular Approach), an operation performed using the technique of endoscopic resection of the organ with access through the oral vestibule along with neuromonitoring. In the TOETVA technique, surgical access to the thyroid gland is performed differently than in classic thyroid surgery: not by making an incision in the lower neck, but by minimally invasive endoscopic methods through the oral vestibule. This technique avoids cutting into the skin of the neck and achieves a good cosmetic result after surgery (no scar on the skin of the neck). Small wounds in the oral vestibule heal quickly with a good cosmetic result.

In addition, the doctor performs thermoablation procedures for thyroid nodules (RFA and LTA) and thyroid biopsies.

He is also an endoscopist in the field of upper and lower gastrointestinal tract and a proctologist. He has participated in numerous courses on interventional endoscopy.
